A date, a room, and why it is worth leaving the house. When the date passes, the entry comes off.
This page is not a feed. The rooms are on Neighborhoods. A night goes here only when it says something about the city, and only until it happens. After that it is a memory, and memories belong on Scene.
October 16–18. Highland Park
Stones Throw is 30. The label is marking it with three days next to Lodge Room, on the block where the office has been for years. Peanut Butter Wolf, Dâm-Funk, J Rocc, Egyptian Lover, Mild High Club, Karriem Riggins. Afternoon into evening, not a club night. This is the one to keep. It is the old record shop idea, done outdoors, a few hundred yards from the room.
October 8. Frogtown.
Body/Head at Zebulon, 2478 Fletcher Drive. Kim Gordon and Bill Nace. A smaller room, a set that does not need a festival around it. This is the other kind of night: one bill, one address, home before the industry has noticed.
Nothing else this month clears the bar. Lodge Room has other shows. Zebulon has a full week. Most of them are concerts. A concert is not automatically a night for this page.
When October 8 has passed, delete the Frogtown entry. When October 18 has passed, delete the Highland Park entry. Do not move them into an archive. If nothing replaces them, the page should say so: no night this week that belongs here. An empty bulletin is honest. A calendar from last month is not.
The rooms, if you need the map, are on Neighborhoods.
